I like the point here that: One day back in the past - the "we've always done it that way" was in fact the "NEW WAY". It serves as a reminder that continuous improvement rather than the status-quo actually must be the natural order of things. Sustainable improvement depends upon relentless follow-up of the policies and procedures in place today to understand what "new" ways of doing business may be needed. Stakeholder collaboration will be key to identifying the people, processes and technology needed to make the "new way" the "way we've always done it" - until the bell tolls that its time to change again.
